Local men preparing to grow out the ‘stache for Movember

Nov 2, 2015 | 6:23 AM

During the month of November men around the world will be raising awareness about prostate and testicular cancer by growing out their moustaches.

The money raised during the annual campaign known as Movember goes towards education and awareness campaigns.

Shell River Towing and Recovery in Shellbrook is among many groups and businesses taking part this year.

“This is our first year in business and we decided to do something for cancer,” said owner Casey Reimer.

Reimer said one dollar from every call the towing company receives will go towards the campaign. He said they will also be accepting donations.

Reimer admitted it could be a challenging month.

“Well I normally grow a full beard so sporting a moustache is going to be a little different,” he said.

There is currently an online link where people can donate to the business.

Members of the Prince Albert Raiders are also taking part in Movember this month.

Movember is a global initiative which ends on Nov. 30.
