Common Ground Project Looking for Community Group Input

Nov 10, 2015 | 9:37 AM

The Common Ground Project is a pilot program to bring together First Nation/Metis together with Newcomers and Immigrants in creative and fun ways to dispel the myths that lead to discrimination and racism.

Though the Pilot is only until the end of March – we are anticipating continuing on in Prince Albert beyond that date.

Community Input is a VITAL component of The Common Ground Project. We need YOU.

The Common Ground Project then, is inviting all of you to attend our next meeting:

  • Monday, November 16th
  • Prince Albert Multicultural Council Office at 1402 C Central Avenue
  • Noon
  • A Lite Lunch will be provided.

The issues of discrimination and racism is, as you all know, extremely complex. To be successful, we need all your input. As this pilot project continues past March, we will be addressing this issue at a community at large level.

It is our belief that discrimination and racism occurs from myths created about the other group. Help us work to bring people together, discover what we have in common – learn and celebrate what makes us different!

RSVP to Karen Cay at commongroundproject@gmail.com if possible but RSVP is not necessary. You may also call or text me at 1.306.864.7122.
