National Child Day

Nov 10, 2015 | 11:11 AM

Again this year, the Prince Albert Early Childhood Council is honouring our children by recognizing a special day for them.

We are asking Prince Albert and area to indicate their support for children’s rights, and the importance of children.

We are hoping you will take Friday November 20th to celebrate along with us. You can show your support in two ways:
1. Wear blue
2. Buy a special blue bracelet and wear it with pride

WEARING BLUE:
You can wear any shade of blue you have available to you. This could be blue clothing, a blue hat, scarf, or bow tie (yes, we have seen this in past years). We are looking forward to looking out into our community on November 20th and seeing a sea of blue. All different shades of blue say “we support children’s rights”.

Children’s rights are (from the Prince Albert Children’s Charter)

  • The right to have basic needs met
  • The right to be safe
  • The right to be themselves
  • The right to belong
  • The right to loving relationships
  • The right to lifelong learning
  • The right to play and be physically active
  • The right to contribute

BUY YOUR EXCLUSIVE BRACELET:

We have designed, ordered, and have in stock exclusive silicone, embossed, glow in the dark bracelets! These bracelets can be purchased throughout town. They are a special way for all of us to honour this
day, and what it means to children and their rights as a child.

Please pass the word around to friends and family, purchase bracelets for all your loved ones or coworkers and, ban together to let the children in our neighbourhood know you care. We hope to see a
multitude of blue and blue bracelets on everyone November 20, 2015. Adults, children, seniors, and babies can join together to support all children.

All proceeds, from the bracelets, go towards the Family Expo, parent graduation program, and other Early Childhood Council initiatives throughout the year. Donations also accepted.
