1 dead in crash on Trans-Canada Highway at Swift Current

Traffic is being rerouted on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Swift Current after a fatal crash early Thursday morning.

RCMP say at least one person is dead after a car and semi collided 1.6 kilometres west of the city. There’s no word on any other injuries.

The westbound lanes are closed and traffic is being detoured from the scene. Mounties expect the highway to remain closed for several hours.

People in the area say road conditions are good.
