Lacrosse teams bring home hardware
Prince Albert’s midget lacrosse team capped off a successful season last weekend.
The P.A. Trappers clinched the provincial crown with an 8-6 victory over Regina at provincial competition in Saskatoon. Trappers coach Javan Bexson said this year’s team truly stands out.
“Hands down the most talented team that P.A. has probably ever seen in long time and could go down as the greatest group of kids we’ll ever see,” he said.
Heading into the final game the Trappers were undefeated. To get to the final the P.A. team dispatched Saskatoon in the semifinals. The Trappers saw some impressive individual performances over the weekend from Caidyn Prediger, who was named a tournament all-star and from Bauer Swystun, who was named most valuable player. Bexson said the team also got a strong effort from goaltender Mason Hawkes.
