Man sentenced for shooting teen in arm

A Saskatoon man will spend just under four years in prison for shooting a 15-year-old boy in the arm.

Cullen Sol Sullivan Johnson, 18, pleaded guilty in Saskatoon Provincial Court to four gun-related charges, including intentionally discharging a prohibited firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.

But the defense argued Johnson didn't intend to shoot anybody when he fired the sawed-off shotgun near the Meadowgreen Confectionary in the 500 block of Avenue W South on April 23.

That's why the 12 original charges, including aggravated assault, were dropped in lieu of the new charges.
