At Pet Planet in Prince Albert they are dedicated to your pets well being. Quality and Value are the first two principles that make up the Pet Planet philosophy, and they take them very seriously. Corinne and Lee believe that everyone should have access to affordable and healthy pet products and their approach to achieving this goal starts with product selection, making sure that they choose to carry only the brands and products that reflect that philosophy.

Pet Planet is a Canadian franchise that first opened its doors in Calgary, Alberta in 1996. Since day one Pet Planet has strived to establish a more health-minded approach to pet retail. Pet Planet’s Prince Albert location first opened and began supporting that mind set seven years ago.

Everyday Pet Planet Ambassador’s make it their goal to educate their customers on the importance of choosing a healthy diet for their pet. Similar to humans they want pet owners to realize that what their pet eats can greatly affect their quality of life. Quality and Value are considered important at Pet Planet and as a result they only sell brands and products that reflect those principles.

“There are no bi-products, chemical preservatives, corn or soy used in the product we sell,” said Prince Albert Franchisee owner Corinne Penner. “Our products are carefully chosen to offer solutions based on your pets individual needs. If it is not good enough for human consumption then it is not sold here.”

Today pet owners want healthier, happier pets and Pet Planet’s pet ambassador’s are prepared to help educate pet owners on the steps they need to take to make that possible.

At Pet Planet they also believe that keeping your pet healthy and happy shouldn’t break the bank. Pet food from your local big box store might appear cheaper at first but due to the amount of inferior ingredients found in most brands, food found at Pet Planet has been proven to be less expensive over time.

“A misconception we want to get across is thinking grocery store food is cheaper,” said Penner. “Because it is full of bi-product you might end up feeding your pet six cups per day compared to two cups of our product. So when you actually look at your costs over the year you are saving over $200 a year shopping here getting quality stuff that isn’t full of preservatives.”

Overall, Pet Planet and the Pet ambassadors that work there can help supply pet owners with all their pet needs including food, treats, toys and supplements. The Prince Albert location offers a H.A.N.K. health and nutrition kiosk that can help pet owners to better choose the appropriate diet for their pet and assist in finding the right food if their pet suffers from any food allergies. They also offers a convenient self-wash station that for the low price of $10 gives pet owners a convenient place to help keep their pets clean and every 6th wash is FREE!

Being a locally owned family business, the staff at Pet Planet believe that it is important for them to be involved in the community, which is why they have created the Pet Planet Prince Albert “Lets Give Back Fundraising Initiative” The initiative will help to support local charitable, non-profit and animal rescue groups through a variety of different fundraising efforts at Pet Planet.
