Herb Bassett Residents Get a Much Needed Lift
The Victoria Hospital Foundation recently made a decision to use undesignated funds to complete the outfitting of the Herb Bassett Home with ceiling track lifts.
Previously, there were six resident rooms that had no ceiling lifts and staff at the home were limited as to which residents could be placed in them.
The Foundation used $30,000 in donations that had not been allocated to a particular area of the hospital to purchase 6 new ceiling track lifts. These lifts ensure the safety and comfort of both staff and residents when the residents are being transferred.
“Having these lifts available to all our residents will enable them to be transferred in a safe, comfortable and dignified way.” Duc Huang, Nursing Unit Manager – Herb Bassett Home, Paradise Path
