Prince Albert was visited by a large flock of ducks on Sunday, but these ducks were rainbow coloured and only in town for a short period of time.

The annual Duck Derby, hosted by the Prince Albert Kinsmen Club, saw more than 2,000 rubber ducks dropped off of the Diefenbaker Bridge – each duck had a corresponding number.

The ducks made their way down the river, with the first ducks past the finish line netting their owners some great prizes, according to Kinsmen Club member and Duck Derby organizer Marcus Abrametz.

“The first three winners all received big cash prizes, and for the 50 ducks after that we have gift cards from Selena’s Donairs here in Prince Albert,” Abrametz said.

“All the proceeds raised through this charity raffle go to benefit the Kinsmen Club. It’s all really for a great cause and it seems really well received by the community. We’ve been selling ducks all over town for the last month.”

Each duck could be purchased for $10. This is the second year the Prince Albert Kinsmen Club has held this event.

“We’re very thankful to all of our sponsors and as well to all the members of the community in Prince Albert.”

The main winning numbers from this year’s race were: 0099, 0172, 0563
