Police investigate home invasion, drug seizures, stabbing in 24-hour period

Since yesterday afternoon until this morning, Prince Albert Police responded to 131 calls.

Before 2 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a home invasion complaint on the 100 block of 21 Street West. Residents told investigators that multiple people entered the home with firearms before taking a TV and cellphone.

Police issued an arrest warrant for a female suspect and the investigation remains ongoing.

Drug seizure

In an unrelated case, officers stopped a vehicle early this morning on the 400 block of 15 Street West to issue a violation ticket. Police noticed the female passenger of the vehicle had outstanding Criminal Code warrants.

Further investigation led to police finding 9.9 grams of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

A 26-year-old was charged with unlawful drug possession and appeared in court this morning.

Aggravated assault

Officers are investigating a stabbing that injured a 29-year-old man yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Central Avenue around 4:15 p.m. The man was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police say the victim and suspect know each other.
