Car crashes into Victoria Hospital

May 29, 2019 | 11:57 AM

There was a close call Wednesday morning outside Victoria Hospital, as a small grey car narrowly missed a group of people standing on the sidewalk.

The car would proceed to hit the corner wall of the hospital’s front entrance before coming to a stop just outside the entrance to Herb Bassett home. This witness who asked paNOW to be kept anonymous, was among those standing outside the hospital, and saw the driver.

The witness said the woman swerved and was waving her hands before she crashed.

“It just spooked me,” she said.

The witness said there were four other people standing outside at the time, including a woman with a baby.

A spokesperson for Parkland Ambulance has confirmed the driver was taken to the hospital’s emergency department, but there has been no word yet what factors led to the crash, including whether she may have been in medical distress.
