Warrant executed at Île-à-la-Crosse home, several arrested, drugs seized

RCMP members from Île-à-la-Crosse, along with the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team as well as Mounties from La Loche, Buffalo Narrows, Beauval and the Meadow Lake Police Dog Services made a drug seizure and subsequent arrests last week.

The month-long investigation into a residence in Île-à-la-Crosse led officers to 112 grams of crack cocaine packaged for distribution, 30 grams of an unidentified white powder, $10,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded .45 calibre handgun, several cellphones and an electronic scale.

Adam Mohamed Elmi from Estevan is facing trafficking and restricted weapon charges.

Omar Ali Nur from Edmonton is facing possession of the proceeds of crime charges and possession of a restricted weapon.

Joylene Cassandra Morin from Île-à-la-Crosse is facing weapon, proceeds of crime and trafficking charges.

Jaydene Monica Morin from Île-à-la-Crosse is facing one trafficking charge.

Abdul Rahman Al-Tamimi from Edmonton is facing possession of proceeds of crime charges, along with a restricted weapon charge and careless storage of a firearm charges.

All are scheduled to appear in provincial court June 26 in Île-à-la-Crosse.
