Dragons dominate home opener

The Sask. River Dragons have improved to 7-1, following a successful weekend on home turf.

In their first game Saturday, at Prime Minister’s Park, the Dragons blasted Lashburn 43-0. Jonty Kruger and Thayne Clarke each had two tries. Elijah MacPherson, Austin Belair, and Dante Doell all had one try.

Next up for the Dragons was the Badgers, who the Dragons scorched 39-0. Byran Farrell, Shaun Farrell, Jonty Kruger, MacPherson and Parker Elphinstone all had one try. Clarke scored two tries.

The final game of the day for the Dragons was against the Krems, and the end result was a lot closer with the Dragons narrowly winning 19-14. Byran Farrell, Jonty Kruger, and Shaun Farrell each had one try.

The Dragons have a week off to prepare for the North Saskatchewan Junior Rugby Sevens Championship May 25 in Warman.
