Stanley Mission man charged with second-degree murder

A Stanley Mission man has been charged with second-degree murder after a suspicious death earlier this month.

The incident occurred on April 15, when RCMP members received a complaint of an injured male at a Stanley Mission home. When Mounties arrived, they located a deceased 29-year-old man. He was identified as Robert Phillip McKenzie.

An investigation revealed there was an altercation that fatally injured McKenzie. The suspect fled the scene and was arrested at his home that evening.

Darcy Patrick Charles, born 1980, was charged with second-degree murder and appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning.
