In-person transit refund locations open

Oct 8, 2014 | 2:56 PM

Saskatoon bus riders looking for an in-person refund on their September bus pass can do so starting Wednesday.

In-person customers will be issued a cash card or cheque at several locations throughout Saskatoon.

Sunrise Cappo, who goes to school downtown was one of the first people to get her refund at the bus mall terminal.

“It’s a good thing because it gives just a little bit of extra cash to park and get things organized,” she said.

Jasmine Mazurkewich also received her refund Wednesday morning and already had plans on how to spend it.

“Now I’ll have a little extra money for food and gas,” Mazurkewich said, adding she hopes the lockout will be resolved before winter hits.

If everyone who holds a current bus pass in Saskatoon gets a refund or an extension, it will cost the city about $850,500.

Locations for in-person refunds include:

*City hall Oct. 8 to Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed weekend and Thanksgiving holiday Monday)

*Downtown bus mall at the transit customer service centre from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

*Mobile stations (including Stonebridge near Value Village), Market Mall, Riversdale area, Northwest area Oct. 8 to Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

*Leisure centres Oct. 8 to Oct. 10 from noon to 8 p.m., and Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Customers can also opt for an extension or a credit on a city bill. Senior Annual Pass holders can receive a reimbursement but not an extension.

Transit customers with a monthly pass can keep their current September pass and when service resumes, they can produce their pass for a one-month extension.

To avoid lineups, a form can be downloaded at www.saskatoon.ca and mailed to city hall. The form must be accompanied by a bus pass.
