EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous version of this story stated Cook was arrested with 24 hours, however family stated he became a suspect in that time not that he was arrested. We apologize for the error.
The wounds are still fresh for Cory Brown’s parents over a month after they lost their son.
They, along with Brown’s brother, aunt, and others sat in the courtroom on Thursday for a quick appearance in the prisoner’s box by the man accused of killing Brown.
According to Cory Brown’s family, Trevor Cook, 41, became a suspect within 24 hours of police finding Cory Brown dead in a home on the 1100-block of 14 Street West. The following week he was charged with second degree murder.
