Mar 23, 2018 | 5:00 PM

With the area in for another round of winter weather and fresh snow, Parkland Paramedics are urging caution after responding to two snowmobile injuries in under 24 hours.

At 11:20 a.m. today, paramedics responded to an incident south of MacDowell. Paramedics cared for a 58-year-old male who was taken to hospital in stable condition. Parkland was forced to use their Mobile Response Vehicle (MRU) to transfer the patient to a waiting ambulance.

Yesterday, paramedics were called to the Whelan Bay area north of Candle Lake for a 60-year-old male with serious injuries around 3:15 p.m. He was taken to hospital and has since been transferred to Saskatoon where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Paramedics are reminding those hitting the trails to travel with a partner, know the area they are travelling and remain on marked trails and off private land. They also recommend people advise friends or family of where they plan to travel and when they may return in the case of an emergency.
