Kinsmen water slides receive $25K grant
The water slides at Kinsmen Water Park are $25,000 closer to being repaired after they received grant funding from the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF).
Prince Albert’s water slides were closed for the season due to safety concerns. The City needs $260,000 in total to repair the water slides, and it has committed $100,000 to their repair. The grant funding means that the contribution from outside sources to the project is $60,000.
The City has applied for other grants and presented sponsorship proposals and it continues to wait for a response to those, community services director Jody Boulet said on Tuesday.
“We’re hoping to have a couple more announcements, potentially before Christmas. We have been working on the project now for quite some time as far as the fundraising end of it.”
