RCMP officers arrested two people and seized cash, firearms, and drugs during a search in Weirdale, Sask. last week.

Police said members of the Integrated Street Enforcement Team, which consists of officers from the Prince Albert Police Service and RCMP, executed a search warrant at a Weirdale residence March 22. During the search, officers located firearms and cash, along with “a significant quantity of drugs” which included morphine capsules, marijuana and gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB).

Police charged two Weirdale residents after the search. Michael Fremont, 41, and Lynsey Nilghe, 27, were both charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, along with weapons charges.

Both suspects made their first court appearances last Friday in Prince Albert. They are presumed innocent at this stage.
