Raiders shutout for third straight game, lose 3-0 in Vancouver

Dec 11, 2014 | 1:41 AM

Make it three straight games without a goal for the Raiders. Vancouver Giants goalie Payton Lee made 29 saves in a 3-0 victory, the fourth in a row for the Giants and third straight for new coach Claude Noel.

Jackson Houck opened the scoring miday through the second period on a screen shot that beat Raider goalie Nick McBride from the left wing circle. The Giants got the insurance marker on a third period power play from Joel Hamilton while Tyler Benson sealed the win with an empty net goal at 18:21 of the final frame.

The Raider offense never got going as the Giants applied pressure in all three zones. The Prince Albert power play went 0-5 and is now 0-for-its-last-13 and just 2-21 on this road trip.

Nick McBride turned in another impressive performance in goal with 34 saves while newcomer Raymond Grewal was solid on defense in his Raider debut.
