A little more information is being released in connection to the death of 50-year-old inmate Darcy Charles Alexson.

According Correctional Service Canada communications manager Jeff Campbell, Alexson was receiving treatment at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert when his care team decided he needed to be transferred to a Saskatoon hospital.

It was during this transfer on Christmas Day that Alexson passed away.

Campbell couldn’t confirm what Alexson was being treated for at the Victoria Hospital or how long he had been there prior to being transferred.
