Lamotte, Ozar lead Mintos over Battlefords
Forward Austin Lamotte recorded his second consecutive three-point game with a pair of goals (9,10) and an assist as the Prince Albert Mintos defeated the Battlefords Stars 7-3 Tuesday in Midget AAA hockey action at the North Battleford Civic Centre.
Lamotte’s performance followed his three point game on Sunday against the Notre Dame Argos and extends his consecutive point streak to nine games. Kade McMillian also had a pair of goals (7,8) for the Mintos with singles going to Josh Pillar (17), Tanner Robin (10), and Luke Nkwama (12)
Rookie defenseman Alex Ozar had his best game in a Minto jersey chipping in with three-assists. This effort gives him a team best 21 helpers this season.
Prince Albert led 2-0 after one period and 5-2 after 40 minutes of play. The Mintos scored three power play goals in six opportunities while the Stars were 0-3 with the man advantage.
