Police and paramedics respond to weekend accidents

Prince Albert Police had a fairly busy weekend, responding to nearly 200 calls for service.

On Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m. police were called to a car accident at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 17th Street West.

When police arrived they discovered that the occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene on foot, leaving the black Range Rover at the intersection where it had collided with a light .

Shortly afterwards two men were arrested in relation to the accident, the vehicle was seized and police are still investigating.

Police believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

And Parkland Ambulance Paramedics had a few incidents to respond to over the weekend.

On Saturday around 1:45 p.m. paramedics responded to an incident involving a snowmobile about 10 kilometers north of the city.

A 41-year-old man was injured in the incident and was taken to Victoria Hospital by paramedics in good condition for further care.

And later that afternoon around 3:30 p.m. paramedics responded to an accident at the intersection of 22nd Street and Second Avenue West.

A 12-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for further care.
