Fire crews respond to vehicle fire at North Bay Trailer Park

Sep 27, 2017 | 2:34 PM

At roughly 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a vehicle fire in the North Bay Trailer Park north of Prince Albert.

Black smoke could be seen billowing over the tree line North of the city.

Park resident Jackson Henry was one of the first ones on the scene.

“I was just sitting inside, doing my thing, and I came out because I heard someone swear and I looked, and I seen the vehicle was on fire on the engine,” he said.

He said the car was hooked to a battery charger and the fire started in the engine when the resident of the trailer was not home.

Park residents were limited in their response and could only watch, as the water was recently shut off at the park to repair a major break under a trailer.

Henry said he wasn’t overly worried about the fire until popping noises were heard, which eventually were deemed to be bullets.
