Counsel grounded in northern lodge break-in case
Weather seems to be a recurring issue for five teens that went missing on a boat trip near Reindeer Lake months ago and were charged with break and enter after their return.
Fog and strong winds forced the four boys and one girl – allegedly between the ages of 13 and 17 – onto an island after they headed out on a moose hunting trip in aluminum boats in November.
The teens, who are all from Southend, were scheduled to appear in Southend Youth Justice Court at the end of January.
However, the Crown prosecutor’s office said the case was adjourned until the end of February because cold weather kept counsel from flying in for the court appearance.
