Jail-N-Bail: In Photos

Oct 20, 2016 | 3:16 PM

The 27th Annual Jail n’ Bail took place today at the Gateway Mall. 900 CKBI’s Neil Headrick and Don Mitchell helped host the event.

Participants could throw a friend in “jail” for an hour as a unique way to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

P.A. resident Alma Newman, decided to turn herself in.

“I was on the most wanted poster, because I was a citizen of the year in 1990. I said I didn’t need to be arrested, I’d turn myself in. So I did,” she said.

Newman felt Jail n’ Bail was a great idea to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

All told, the event raised $22,000 and arrested 32 people.

Charlene Bernard, unit manager of Canadian Cancer Society Prince Albert called the day “fantastic.”

“It’s been a wonderful day and we really appreciate the community’s support.”
