Bridge work to continue on as durable markings laid down

Jul 24, 2017 | 2:00 PM

Work on the Diefenbaker Bridge which started last week will continue on for the foreseeable future.

The lines on the bridge will continue to be added for another seven days according to Keri Sapsford, the transportation and traffic manager for the City of Prince Albert.

“We’re not painting it; we’re putting down some durable markings,” Stepford said. “They take a lot longer to complete than regular painting would.”

She said construction crews will be doing the work overnight to not disrupt traffic.

This is the first time the city has pursued such a method; now the timing has been sorted out and depending on weather conditions she expects another seven evenings of work. She said the city hopes to have the durable markings on the bridge completed as quickly as possible.

As with last week’s work, one northbound, and one southbound lane will remain open. paNOW will publish work dates once they are made available.
