Shining a light on local literacy

Nov 27, 2018 | 11:14 AM

A trio of Christmas Trees at the Gateway Mall are slowly coming to light in the hopes they can add some sparkle to the promotion of reading in the community.

The P.A. Literacy Network’s Shine A Light for Literacy fundraiser uses $2 donations from the public per light to dress the trees and help fund their efforts.

“We assist low literacy individuals in P.A. and area and also help with programming for family literacy events,” adult literacy coordinator, Samantha Kelly, told paNOW.

She added their story sack initiative is also popular.
