UPDATE: Third Ultimate Pajama Party brings in over $7,300

There was no shortage of entertainment at the Exhibition Centre in Prince Albert on Saturday night.

The unique and often group-themed pyjamas ranged from leopard-print to bright-red devil onesie’s alone were enough to keep people amused.

On top of the outfits, women at the all-night Third Ultimate Pajama Party were free to shop at booths spread around the centre while sipping drinks and snacking on food.

Before the on-stage entertainment kicked off with a fashion show, organizer Michelle McKeaveney spoke to the crowd of women.

She started off with a shout-out to people who came from communities outside of Prince Albert for the night out.

She alternated between joking about her men’s onesie that made her look “fabulous” to getting serious.

McKeaveney explained to the crowd how meaningful the money raised from the event is.

Organizers seek out families so they can help them cope with the costs associated with illnesses.

She got choked up as she talked about her own experience with an illness. She suffers from a vision impairment that caused her eyes to “bulge out” several years ago.

She went to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for treatment and is down to her final set of surgeries, which got applause from the women.

This year the funds raised will go to three different families who have children with cancer. Two are 13-year-olds and the third is a six-year-old McKeaveney found out about through a paNOW story.

Patricia Albert has been holding her own fundraisers to fund her son Tristan’s cancer treatment in Saskatoon.

McKeaveney said they haven’t contacted the family yet, but will track them down with the good news.

She sandwiched the heartfelt moments with plenty of jokes and laughter before transitioning to the fashion show.

The rest of the evening was full with a Zumba demonstration, acoustic music, and after 11 p.m., a performance from Body Heat Male Exotic Entertainment.

After the night's event, the Third Ultimate Pajama Party brought in more than $7,300 for the families.
