Getting permission

RCMP to crack down on trespassing snowmobilers

Mar 15, 2019 | 10:19 AM

Prince Albert RCMP received several complaints about snowmobilers trespassing on private property surrounding the city and reminds the public to seek consent from landowners.

Section 25 of the Snowmobile Act states riders are not permitted on private land without consent of the landowner. The Trespass to Property Act makes a lack of permission an offence with offenders subject to a summary offence or up to $2,000 fine.

To deter trespassing, members of the Prince Albert RCMP detachment will be conducting snowmobile patrols in the area.
