Prince Albert Tim Hortons serving up coffee for Camp Day

Jun 1, 2016 | 5:15 PM

Today, June 1 marks Tim Hortons 25th annual Camp Day across the country.

All the profits received from coffee sales at participating restaurants are donated towards the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation. The donations are helping to send more than 190,000 kids from low-income families to camp this year.

Tim Hortons customers can purchase a Camp Day bracelet for two dollars while supplies last at the Prince Albert locations.

“Camp Day is really fun. As staff, we have a good time and we get volunteers from the community,” local staff member Shella Ramos said.

Children who attend a Tim Hortons camp are impacted in multiple ways with the hope they leave with confidence and have the motivation to become thriving members in their communities.

Camp Day is the restaurant’s biggest fundraiser of the year and 65 per cent of annual revenues needed by the children’s foundation are generated on this day through coffee sales and donation boxes.

Last year, $12.4 million was raised on Camp Day in Canada and the United States.
