Foul play not suspected in Brennan Ahenakew’s death: RCMP
Three months after a young man’s tragic death, Saskatchewan RCMP announced foul play is not suspected.
Brennan Ahenakew’s remains were found May 10 in a burnt out car on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation. The family of the 20-year-old has been very vocal since his death, publicly alleging he was murdered, but RCMP Cpl. Rob King told paNOW the official investigation and the initial findings of the autopsy found otherwise.
“We have spoken to several witnesses and all rumours and all leads have been followed up on,” King said. “There is still some things to complete in the investigation, but at this point nothing indicates foul play.”
Ahenakew’s mother claimed she received taunts through social media Monday night from someone claiming to be her deceased son. King said that alleged activity is now part of a separate investigation.
