College of Nursing excited for opportunities with new U of S campus in Prince Albert
Residents and community leaders in Prince Albert aren’t the only ones excited about the possibilities once the University of Saskatchewan expands to the forest centre building downtown.
Various colleges within the university are also excited about the change, and are anticipating the expansion will bring more opportunities for research and collaboration in a number of fields. U of S officials said at an earlier this week in Prince Albert. Dr. Phil Woods agrees the new campus in the city’s downtown core will be a chance for more students to learn and build their careers closer to home.
Woods is the acting dean with the U of S College of Nursing and said the chance to study near where you live has always been a priority for the school.
“Our presence has been here for a number of years, and we’re excited to move to this new facility in a couple of years,” Woods said. “I think there’s great opportunities as a hub to bring students here, and also to allow collaborations to go further up north.”
