Sharon Nygren
1944 ~ 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Faye Nygren (née Andry) on October 24, 2026, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, at the age of 82. Born in Wadena, Saskatchewan, on August 6, 1944, Sharon lived a life defined by her profound love for family, her nurturing spirit, and her dedication to caring for others.
Sharon began her professional life as a telephone operator in Wadena, a career she continued in Saskatoon while her husband, Larry, attended university. Their journey later took them to Sudbury, Ontario, where she worked for Bell Canada. Upon returning to Saskatchewan, Sharon channeled her deep love for children into a new calling. Alongside her son Jeff, she opened a home daycare that she proudly operated for over 20 years. She showered generations of children with exceptional care, warmth, and affection in the very home she lived in until her passing.
Above all else, Sharon’s greatest passion was her family and close friends. Her happiest moments were spent at the family cabin at Northshore, Fishing Lake. There, surrounded by loved ones, she found endless joy in feeding the birds, especially her beloved hummingbirds, planting flowers, fishing, and embracing the peace of the lake. She was also an avid fan of playing whist, solving Sudoku, and piecing together puzzles with family and friends.
Sharon cherished every moment spent watching her grandchildren grow, creating irreplaceable summer memories with them at the lake. In her later years, meeting and sharing her love with her great-grandchildren, Kali and Jax, was undeniably the ultimate highlight of her life.
Sharon was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry; her cherished son, Craig; her parents, Mike and Ethel Andry; her parents-in-law, Jim and Elsie Nygren; her brother, James Andry; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny, Judy, Hannah, and Ron.
Her memory will be forever kept alive by her children, Kerrie (Joe), Tannis, and Jeff (Laurie); her sister, Arlene; her grandchildren, Alicia (Kaelan), Jaden (Sam), Emma, and Kenzie; and her adored great-grandchildren, Kali and Jax. She also leaves behind many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Le Roux, the incredible staff at Prince Albert Home Care and Victoria Hospital for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to Sharon. A special, heartfelt thank you goes to her wonderful friends, Linda and Ray Mateush, who selflessly ensured she was always looked after when family could not be there.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of life and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sharon’s memory to STARS Air Ambulance, TeleMiracle, or Lung Saskatchewan.
