It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Martin Gariepy, late of Prince Albert, SK on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, at the age of 74 years. Marty was born on September 20th, 1952, to Martin and Laura Gariepy of Prince Albert, SK.
Marty loved spending time with his grandkids as much as he could. One of the things they did was go to Tim Horton’s. That’s really where you would find him, in his spot, visiting with everyone. Even if he didn’t know you, he would visit. All you had to do was drive by 2nd Ave West and Tim Horton’s, and there’s Marty! If he wasn’t there, he was probably helping someone, as that was his passion. Being a mechanic and body man, he was always helping someone. If you were lucky enough to have time to sit with him, you would get to hear one of his many stories he liked to tell. He had lots of stories, although his favorites you would hear more than once!
Marty is survived by his daughters Sabrina (Graham) MacKenzie & Tanya (Cory) St.Denis; his grandchildren Arron MacKenzie, Logan Mackenzie, Jared Kormish, River Pocha, & Jerry Benjamin; his sisters Judy Dickens, Simone Pilon, Edna Blight, & Joyce McBeth (who was just like a sister to him).
Marty was predeceased by his wife Cindy Gariepy; his son Clinton Gariepy; his parents Martin (Laura) Gariepy; his brother John Gariepy; his sister Anita Bunt; & his closest friends Terry Mulgrew and Richard Sorensen.
