Don’t Leave Agriculture’s Future to Chance:
Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan (AITC-SK) is calling on Saskatchewan’s agriculture community to rally behind the 4th Annual Acres for Education fundraising campaign. This year, thanks to a generous matching commitment from JGL, every dollar donated will be matched up to $35,000, helping even more Saskatchewan students experience agriculture firsthand.
Funds raised through Acres for Education help support AITC-SK’s programs that give students and teachers meaningful opportunities to experience agriculture firsthand through classroom presentations, visits to farms and agri-businesses, and agricultural events. Offered at no cost to teachers, these experiences spark curiosity, build understanding, and help students discover where their food comes from, the people behind it, and the possibilities agriculture holds for their future.
Over the past three years, Acres for Education has raised more than $175,000, directly impacting more than 40,000 Saskatchewan students. In 2025 alone, donors contributed $43,250, with an additional $25,000 matched by JGL, helping more than 4,300 students experience a farm or agricultural event firsthand.
“Every donation helps create an opportunity for a student to experience agriculture in a way they may never have otherwise,” said Sara Shymko, Executive Director of AITC-SK. “Whether it’s visiting a farm, meeting an agriculture professional or exploring how food makes its way from field to table, these experiences help students build a deeper understanding of agriculture and the important role it plays in their lives. With JGL matching every donation up to $35,000, this is an incredible opportunity for our community to make double the impact.”
