Meeting days, prayer and remote attendance among proposed changes to council procedures
A review of the City of Prince Albert’s procedures bylaw could lead to Tuesday meetings instead of Monday, and replacing the council meeting prayer with a moment of reflection.
Other suggested changes include adding a consent agenda to regular meetings and reducing the ability of councillors to attend meetings remotely.
The report presented to council at Tuesday’s executive committee meeting resulted in lengthy discussions, but no decisions other than directing staff to return with each proposed change as a separate motion.
The least-discussed item was removing the prayer, a practice introduced in 1992.
