Timberjaks complete trade from nearly a year ago ahead of weekend slate

The Prince Albert Timberjaks have added a boost to their roster after completing a trade with the Martensville Chiefs.

The trade was initiated back on Dec. 18, 2025, when the Timberjaks dealt Jace Borschneck to the Chiefs in exchange for a player development fee (PDF) and future considerations.

Fast forward to this past Thursday and those future considerations were finally decided, with forward Tristin Tetreault-Yaremko and defenceman Turner Krahn being the final pieces coming back to Prince Albert.

“[Krahn] is a good stay at home D-man, moves pucks well, makes great first passes, plays physical and is a good teammate. We think he’d fit in great in our room,” said General Manager Stef Corfmat, noting he’s watched Krahn play over the years while knowing little about Tetreault-Yaremko.

“[Yaremko] is a really good player. Skates well, he can score, he sees the ice well.”

Tetreault-Yaremko was second in scoring on the Chiefs this season with seven points (3G-4A) in six games. In two seasons with Martensville/Delisle, the 20-year-old Saskatoon product has netted 40 points (15G-25A) in 64 regular season contests, along with just 18 penalty minutes.

Meanwhile, Krahn, who was an assistant captain in Martensville, has registered two goals and an assist in six games so far this season and has spent parts of four seasons with the Chiefs franchise, where he’s totaled 22 points (6G-16A) and 49 penalty minutes in 60 career games.

The Saskatoon-born blueliner brings Junior A level playing experience from the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), where he played 18 games for the Thunder Bay North Stars during the 2024-25 season, notching one assist.

“We have room for both of them,” said Corfmat, when asked what moves need to be made. “We knew that we were getting two guys in return so we’ve anticipated that and have released guys and made roster moves to prepare for them.”

The news of the finalized trade broke Thursday, ahead of the Timberjaks home contest against the Chiefs at the Northern Regional Rec. Centre later that night. Both Tetreault-Yaremko and Krahn were not in the lineup in P.A.’s 3-2 overtime win, and Corfmat said that they most likely won’t be in this weekend either.

“We’re not just going to throw them into the fire. By the time we get them carded, I would have a hard time getting them in for [Saturday’s game].”

Following their win over Martensville, the Timberjaks are now 3-2-0 (W-L-OTL) through their first five games of the season, and are in search of their third straight win on Saturday when they host the Regina Silver Foxes for a 7:30 p.m. start. Then, P.A. is back at it on Sunday when they welcome the Saskatoon Quakers at 3 p.m. to close out a stretch of three games in four days.
