Wet and damp weather holding back Saskatchewan harvest
The Saskatchewan harvest in the province is now about 93 per cent complete.
There was some good weather in the early part of last week that helped producers continue to continue combining. However, rain and snow over the past weekend slowed activity in many areas of the province.
The southwest and west-central regions are the most advanced at 98 and 97 per cent complete, followed by the east-central and northwest regions at 91 per cent. The northeast and southeast regions are 89 per cent complete.
Crops Extension Specialist Davidson Ugheoke said while the moisture delayed harvest operations, it’s been good for replenishing the soil moisture.
