Prince Albert seeks stunting solutions after years of parking lot complaints
Drivers burning rubber near the Art Hauser Centre have frustrated neighbours and raised safety concerns for years. Now, Prince Albert city council is asking administration to examine ways to curb the behaviour while preserving the parking lot as a gathering place for young people.
Council approved a motion from Coun. Blake Edwards on Monday directing administration to prepare a report outlining options to prevent and deter vehicle stunting in the lot. The report is to come back before the 2027 budget deliberations.
Edwards said residents of nearby Grey Owl Crescent have complained throughout his time on council, with the problem particularly noticeable when there is no snow.
“We need to do something,” he said. “It’s just got out of hand. It’s been out of hand for years and years and years.”
