It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Hrynewich on October 2, 2026, at Rose Gill Lodge of Rabbit Lake, SK. Ruth was born on July 12, 1935, on the family farm southwest of Robinhood, SK., to parents Llewellyn & Mary Billard. Ruth married her late husband Peter Hrynewich and moved to the farm south of Rabbit Lake, SK. Together they raised four children Stanley, Diane, Linda & Catherine. Ruth helped with the farming as well as being a housewife & raising the children. Mom loved gardening, cooking, working on the land, and often doing the hardest farm jobs. She was a great crochet & embroidery artist, leaving many of her handy work with her extended family. The coffee was always on, welcoming everyone in for a meal or coffee no matter who you were. Mom was a 4H leader for many years, became involved with numerous boards in Rabbit Lake & Whitkow Communities. As her children grew up, she became involved in following their endeavors. After the passing of her husband Peter, she moved to the Towers in North Battleford, then when her health started to fail, she moved to Rose Gill Lodge in Rabbit Lake. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held Thursday October 8, 2026, 11am at the Rabbit Lake Community Hall, interment to follow in the Glass Lake Cemetery. Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Rose Gill Lodge, Rabbit Lake, SK. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit http://www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.
