January 12, 1939 – September 11, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Bellegarde announces her passing on September 11, 2026, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Oakville, Ont., after devoted care by her daughter, Angela and grandchildren, Natalie and Carson. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Vincent (JoJo); parents, Ed and Lil Ehle; brother, Fr. Leroy Ehle O.M.I; sister-in-law, Lorraine Bellegarde; and brother-in-law, Al Stacey. She leaves to celebrate her life two daughters, Leanne and Angela; grandchildren, Ciella Bellegarde, Davis Daniels, Carson Kondrat, Natalia Kondrat; brother, Arthur (Audrey) Ehle; sisters, Alice Stacey and Bernadette (Rick) Krawczuk; former sons-in-law, Lyle Daniels and Scott Kondrat; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, colleagues and friends. She touched many lives through her dedication to Indigenous education.

A memorial service celebrating Irene’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Rd.).
