More bus shelters to get cultural makeovers

Three more transit shelters in Prince Albert will get a new look after the City of Prince Albert announced a second call for designs from Indigenous artists.
The city hopes making transit shelters more welcoming will increase community pride and help prevent them from being targeted by vandals, as they have been in the past.
“We’re looking for designs that reflect Indigenous culture and pride and continue to beautify our city,” said Judy MacLeod Campbell, arts and culture manager for the City of Prince Albert.
“The transit shelters have been the target of vandalism over the last several years, and our belief is that adding art — grounded in Indigenous culture and history — will create a welcoming and positive environment that contributes to reconciliation, pride and community belonging.”
