With deep sadness, we announce our father Robert William Wilkinson (Neutsy) passed away in Wadena, Saskatchewan on August 7, 2026 at the age of 88 years. His funeral was on Aug 13, 2026 in Wadena.

Dad was born in Prince Albert on January 27, 1938 to Bill & Paula Wilkinson. Dad was the oldest of two. He spent his first years in Lily Plain then they moved into Prince Albert so he could attend school. He joined the Air Force in his late teens and served three years as an airplane mechanic. This is when he met and married Anita in Ontario. They both moved back to Prince Albert to start a family and he became involved his father’s family business helping them out at the auto wreckers. He moved back to Lily Plain where he became a farmer raising all different kinds of animals which he loved dearly. He had a way with all the animals, having connections that not many can experience. They understood him. Dad’s true passion was trucking. He loved the “big rigs”. He put on over a million miles over the years. The stories he told over the years of the highway life was clear that was his true calling. Dad was a man of many talents, including stuccoing, drywalling, and carpentry. He had a very creative mind and was always thinking of new things to do or make. Dad was very strong willed and had a very generous heart. Always willing to help anyone out. He was always there for his kids. Even after we all left the nest to start their own lives. He was there all the time.

Dad’s love of the BC mountains took over in the later years, leading to spend 15 years there. When his health started deteriorating from Parkinson’s, he moved back to Saskatchewan to be closer to home. His family is blessed to have the remainder of his years closer to them. We are going to miss his quick whit, stories of where he’s been, his knowledge of everything, and his big sense of humour. Memories will always be with us anytime we eat a peanut butter sandwich, see a can of sardines, or hear the Jake Brake of a passing semi.

Dad is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Paula Wilkinson; his sister Jean, and her husband Dave; great granddaughter Adrien; and the mother of his children, Anita

Dad will be missed by his common-law Sophia; his four children – John (Tina), Barb (Martin), Linda (Billy), Kim (Mike); 6 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Keep on Trucking Dad down the highway in heaven. We will always love you and will carry you with us until we see you again.

A private family gathering to lay dad’s ashes to rest, will take place at later date in Lily Plain.

THE ROAD HE CALLED HOME

He spent his days upon the road,
With timber in his load,
Through winding trails and highways long,
He carried on, steady and strong.

The truck became his second home,
Through every mile he’d gladly roam.
With logs behind and roads ahead,
He worked with pride for those he fed.

Now his final load is done,
His journey’s end has finally come.
No more long roads, no hills to climb,
Just peaceful rest beyond all time.

Though we can’t see him down the road,
We’ll feel his love in every mile.
And when we hear a truck roll by,
We’ll think of Dad and see his smile
