Teen accused of murdering Prince Albert homeless woman granted bail
Moments after learning she was being released on bail, a look of relief appeared to wash over the face of a 15-year-old girl accused of second degree murder.
The youth appeared Wednesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court. The decision from Judge O’Connor followed a previous hearing that was held on Aug. 24. All the evidence discussed and the judge’s reasons for releasing the youth are subject to a publication ban.
The release conditions include a 24 hour curfew, abstinence from drugs and alcohol and reporting to a psychologist.
In the early morning hours of July 30, 27-year-old Daina Gauthier was assaulted in downtown Prince Albert. She later died in the hospital.
