The woman said she did not see their faces because they were wearing bandanas and hoodies and it was dark outside.

On Monday, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Saskatoon police located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Avenue R and 20th Street West.

The vehicle did not stop for police and began to drive away, disobeying multiple red lights while doing so.

The Air Support Unit was able to follow the vehicle, and patrol officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device at the intersection of 33rd Street and Idylwyld, which resulted in the vehicle being disabled as it approached the 51st Street off-ramp.

Two occupants began to run away; however, ASU guided ground units to the suspects’ location where both were arrested without further incident.

Mario Caribou, 28, and Caitlin Keenatch, 32, appeared Wednesday morning at Saskatoon provincial court. Both were subsequently remanded to Aug. 28 and Sept. 16 respectively.

Caribou has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5000 and breaching court-imposed conditions. Keenatch has been charged with dangerous driving, evading police, possession of stolen property over $5000; and breaching court-imposed conditions.

It’s not clear whether the two were involved in the initial carjacking in Prince Albert.

While relieved her vehicle has been recovered, the woman said she has been left traumatized.

“I thankfully didn’t get harmed,” she said. “I’ve only been struggling with it ever since it happened. I’ve been having a hard time sleeping or being alone.”

The most recent statistics provided by the Prince Albert Police Service are to the end of June. Over the course of six months there were 62 robberies and 11 thefts over $5,000. This compared to 72 and seven for the same time period in 2025.
