It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, Patricia Bodnarchuk. Pat passed away at the age of 69 on August 11, 2026, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon.

She was born on January 22, 1957, in Kitimat, BC to Robert Zaleschuk and Patricia Hagen. Her family loved spending time at the lake, and that was where she met the love of her life, Ronald Bodnarchuk, at the age of 17. They were married on June 12, 1980, and built two homes over the course of 10 years in Emma Lake, SK where they welcomed their son, Michael David, and their daughter, Cheryl Lynne. From there they moved to Birch Hills, SK where they made their permanent home.

Besides being a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother, Pat also worked for 40 plus years as a respected dental receptionist in many offices around Prince Albert with her last 10 years being spent working as a key office administrator for Dr. Crystal Krasilowez at West Hill Dental. She made many friends and contacts throughout her career with coworkers and patients alike who always appreciated her expertise and sunny disposition.

Pat had many talents; she could draw, craft, cook, play piano, sew and especially garden. She was a natural green thumb who spent most of her free time in her yard, her “happy place”. Her hard work and designer’s eye curated a beautiful garden each year that had strangers stopping by and asking for a tour as well as the Horticultural Society of the U of S. She loved flowers and plants and was extremely knowledgeable and proud of what she built.

Ron and Pat, or Patti Anne, as he so lovingly called her, had built a beautiful life over their 52 years together. They loved to travel, spend time at the lake, and visit with friends and family. Pat also loved to read, play games, and spend time with her two puppies, Abby and Willow; however, the thing she enjoyed the most was her grandchildren. She was a proud and amazing grandma whose generosity, love and hugs were never ending, not only to them, but the rest of her family as well. Pat was very family orientated; whether it was sitting down to play cards or watch a movie, attending one of the grandkids many concerts or sporting events, a phone call or FaceTime, or a quick stop by just to say hello or bring you something, her family was always in her thoughts and she was always there when you needed her.

Pat was welcomed into heaven by her father Robert Zaleschuk; her in-laws, Morris and Sandra Bodnarchuk; her sister-in-law, Loreen Bodnarchuk; her longtime friend, Peggy Dupuis and many other family members and friends near and dear to her. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; her son, Michael (Tabetha) Bodnarchuk of Canwood; her daughter, Cheryl (Owen) Clayton of Prince Albert; her seven grandchildren: Ethan, Kaleb, Zander, Parker, Londyn, Blayke and Lachlan; and one great-granddaughter, Kaisley. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Zaleschuk; her sisters, Laurie (Tim) Zaleschuk, Julie (Ernie) Parent, and Christie (Colin) Zaleschuk; her brothers, Randy and Chuck Zaleschuk; her brothers-in-law, Terry, and Bob (Joanne) Bodnarchuk; her sister-in-law, Patty (Bill) Darchuk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family.

Pat was the glue that held her family together. She loved them unconditionally and they all loved her just as deeply. She had a smile that could light up a room, a soft and gentle demeanor, a great wit and sense of humor, and a kind heart that she gave freely and openly to all who knew her.

We love you so very much, and we will miss you dearly. Gone too soon, but always in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Sept 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish  260 25 St. E, Prince Albert, SK.
