Driver recovering after grain truck ends up in ditch south of Prince Albert

A driver was taken to hospital for assessment after a grain truck went off Highway 2 and into the ditch south of Red Deer Hill Road in the R.M. of Prince Albert on Sunday afternoon. 

The St. Louis Fire Department said crews were dispatched at 4:32 p.m. for a report of a semi in the ditch with possible entrapment or injuries. When the fire chief arrived, one man was found on the highway being helped by bystanders. 

The man was conscious while awaiting paramedics. EMS arrived a short time later, took over care, and transported him to Prince Albert for further assessment. 

RCMP also attended and began an investigation. The semi was found upright in water, but officials said it did not present any immediate fire or environmental hazards.
