Kemp Cres. murder results in 13 year prison sentence
Just over a month after his murder trial went off the rails, Quinton Gardiner returned to Court of King’s Bench on Thursday and entered a guilty plea to manslaughter.
By way of a joint submission presented by lawyers, the 41-year-old from Île-à-la-Crosse received a 13 year prison sentence, but with remand credit has about 10 years left to serve.
“It’s not a plea bargain in the true sense, it’s really what was a long process of getting to the right result,” defence lawyer Brian Pfefferle told paNOW outside the courthouse.
