Terry G Reed
NewPosted 1 hour ago

Terry was born in Nipawin on December 14th, 1941, to Garnet and Molly Reed. He grew up on his parents’ homestead, attending Elkridge school, where he rode, – or when needed, drove -a tall bay horse called Diamond. Terry lived a full and adventurous life. He spent more than 50 years on the farm near Choiceland, where he built a life rooted in hard work and community. Along the way he ventured to British Columbia, working in wineries throughout the Lower Mainland, and spent time working in Ocean Falls with his cousin Gary. Though he enjoyed his adventures, the farm always called him home. He was an active member of the Choiceland community, especially through the Elks Club, where he formed many lasting friendships. In 1991, Terry purchased the lumber yard and made Candle Lake his home. When he wasn’t’ working, he loved to boat, fish, and do wood working projects, finding joy and peace at the lake. He was part of the volunteer fire department, Sno’Drifters Club and assisted in trail grooming in the winter. In his later years, some of his favourite times were spent visiting with friends over coffee or gathering for happy hour, where stories, laughter and friendship were always in abundance.
Dad will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, his gift for storytelling, and his kind, generous heart. His door was always open, and family, friends, and neighbors knew they were always welcome to stop by for a visit, a coffee, or a laugh. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had a way of making everyone feel important by taking the time to listen, share a story, crack a joke or simply enjoy being together. He took great pride in the people they had become. He treasured family gatherings, whether they were big holiday celebrations or simple afternoons spent together, and the memories made around the kitchen table will be cherished for years to come. He was also known for his sense of humor. Whenever someone mentioned the high price of something, Dad would smile and ask, “Do you know how much my first car cost?” The answer was always $99, a story that never failed to remind us how much the world has changed.
No matter where life took him, his greatest pride was always his family, and he leaves them with a lifetime of laughter, stories, and memories that will continue to be shared for generations. Dad will be deeply missed, but the values he lived by – hard work, generosity, loyalty, and love of family – will remain with us forever.
Terry will be missed and remembered by his children and grandchildren, Sheila (Harold) & Katie, Kim (Curtis), Hayden & Erin, Bliss, Amber, Morgan & Eden, Ryan (Taylor), Parker & Mason and numerous extended family and friends, especially Richard Lang.
Terry is predeceased by the two loves of his life Janice and June.
